My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS A COURTESY POST, not a Loved at Last dog. Please contact the person or group below for more info.

For more info or to adopt, please contact Ralf at  ralfaggarwal@gmail.com. Adoption fee $100.

Rafa was rescued from a Korean meat factory at around 3 months, and fostered until he was 7 months old, before he was adopted. He’s currently in Penticton, BC. Rafa is a sweet boy, but is in urgent need of an experienced owner that can direct him and provide a better home.

He is good with people and has never shown any signs of aggression towards humans, but has shown reactive aggression towards other dogs and must be kept on a lead until he is taught to play with other dogs in a non-reactive manner.

He loves being petted! Rafa has a high energy level and needs to have a space to run for at least 30 mins 3 times a day, preferably with other dogs. He truly enjoys swimming in the summer to fetch a frisbee and running to play fetch in large fields.

He would be great in a home with a mature dog that is still active and playful. In fact he would benefit from it and hasn’t been exposed to cats. He has prey drive and will run after a flock of birds or deer, but will recall with the signal of clapping hands. He’s not a flight risk in general but gets easily distracted. He’s ok with leash walking but needs more work. With a training collar, he has learned to sit when he is forced to stop.

Rafa is housetrained, but he doesn’t enjoy the crate. He barks and whines when left alone in the crate.
No resource guarding and no destructive behaviour towards furniture – food of any kind on the counters is fair game for him.

Rafa is a beautiful, loving dog and wants to play, please and cuddle. He is a very smart dog, and with an experienced, confident dog owner, he will flourish. Rafa is a dog's dog. He needs another alpha doggy companion brother or sister – a dog that can show him the ropes – plus an experienced owner with time. He wants direction and he is looking for it! He comes with a crate, 2 harnesses, 2 leashes, a training collar, his toys to play with and fetch, feeding dishes and food, even a cute set of socks for the winter...and a great BIG heart!

If he sounds like your kind of companion, please contact Ralf at ralfaggarwal@gmail.com to set up an interview.

More about this rescue

Loved At Last Dog Rescue operates in the Greater Vancouver area. We rescue and rehome local dogs as well as homeless dogs from numerous countries around the world, including Mexico, Korea, China, Iran, Kuwait, Bahrain and India. Many of these dogs have experienced hardship and cruelty yet they are gentle and loving. We have found that dogs who have experienced suffering appreciate every kindness shown them. All our dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped and those over 6 months are spayed or neutered.
