Here's what the humans have to say about me:
COURTESY POST: Meet Moritz, the sweetest German Shepherd mix pup who is about 2 years old and weighs 67 lbs. He was rescued off the street three months ago and is healthy enough now to find his furever home. He is leash trained, potty trained, crate trained, and loves trips to the dog park/doggie day care. But his favorite thing in the world is curling up next to you on the couch (or in your lap!) to get pets and kisses. He is very curious and definitely has a good amount of puppy energy still in him! His kidneys don't function at 100% which means he is always a little underweight (~67lbs vs. 75lbs) but he doesn't need any medicine and it doesn't slow him down at all. He loves new toys (his favorite right now is his yellow ducky) and has yet to meet a person he doesn't like. He is currently in a home with another big dog, but it took some training for them to get along, so he'd be better off in a home without another pet unless you are able to invest time to get them used to one another.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.
All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
