Astro is a sugar-puppy who will melt for anyone who shows him patience and love. He gives his whole heart, and wants to be a part of his family's life. Be prepared for snuggles and attempted lap-sitting. He's learning all the great things, like people give treats, and leashes mean fun outings, and sit gets rewarded. He has a naturally good and earnest nature. He is intimidated by big, bouncy dogs but loves dogs his size and smaller.

The adoption fee for dogs includes vaccinations (DA2PLP+CV, Bordatella, Rabies) spaying/neutering, heartworm check, deworming, heartworm prevention, flea preventative, and microchip.

The adoption fee for cats includes a full exam (feleck/FIV tested, FVRCP), spaying/ neutering, rabies, deworming, and flea preventative.

If you wish to adopt a pet you will need to fill out an adoption application. You can either pick one up at the shelter or email the shelter to request an application be emailed to you.

The Calhoun County Humane Society, Inc. (dba The Animal Shelter), located in Anniston, Alabama, was established in 1973 as a result of the efforts of Susan Levens Phillips.

Our mission is
