My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you’re looking for an experienced long term foster Fern’s (aka “Queen Bee”) your girl! She’s had over a year in foster care and knows all the ins and outs of home life. Fern is a go getter and isn’t shy expressing her wants when she needs to go outside or reminding her humans it’s time for dinner. She loves her food and will finish her bowl in a flash! She even outsmarted the slow feeder bowl! But when it comes to her human’s food, she knows how to respect boundaries and keep her distance. Fern fits the bill If you’re looking for a protective companion and house mate. She loves her human’s attention and prefers to be in their presence where she can be treated as the queen of the castle! She adores lounging on the sofa next to her humans but is accustomed to spending the night in her crate and when her humans leave the house. This queen bee prefers just that, to be the queen of her castle and not to share with other canine companions. Her human’s attention is very important to her and sharing with others is a definite challenge for her! Being the protector of her humans, she is wary of strangers but will warm up to those who display a gentle and soft approach. With all this experience under her belt, Fern will make the perfect solo companion to anyone searching for a queen for their castle! Only experienced humans need apply with forever intentions for Fern and those willing to give updates! Thank you!

More about this rescue

Mission -

Active Paws rescue will help pets in need through sheltering, adoption, education, spay/neuter, and community outreach.

Vision -

Active Paws Rescue would love to see that every animal knows love and kindness. No animal should have to endure needless neglect and suffering. We will provide a voice to those that need it most.

We believe in not only helping the animals but educating our local communities on how to do better.

Active Paws Rescue strongly believes in spaying and neutering all pets. All our adoptable dogs will be fully vetted before adoption.
