My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Michelangelo! Michelangelo and his siblings were born on accident, and when the owners couldn't find homes, they reached out to Wags and Whiskers to take in the remaining 4 pups. These pups are super sweet, and learning so much! When these guys came to Wags, they were terrified of new people, didn't know how to walk on leash, and would literally pee themselves when they were picked up. Now, these boys love and crave attention; due to their love of affection, they can be a bit overwhelming to small children, until they master the art of being calm and not jumping up, which they are working on. Once they calm down from the initial excitement of seeing people, they walk wonderfully on leash, and can even be managed, on leash, by a responsible 7yo child. Michelangelo is eager to please, is super food motivated, and still just a pup, so training is that much easier! If you are looking for a buddy that is up for absolutely anything, and you're willing to help them learn and grow, apply to meet Michelangelo and/or his brother, Leonardo, today!

Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member.

All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.

Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.

If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment.  530-895-8888

If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.

More about this rescue

Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all breed, NO KILL, animal rescue organization, incorporated in August 2015. We are a primarily volunteer driven group with a number years experience with animals and rescue. Our mission is to rescue, foster, rehabilitate and rehome, abandoned, abused and unwanted animals in Willows and Chico, California.

We rescue animals at risk of euthanasia in shelters, as well as those surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We are committed to helping the most needy, as well as the readily adoptable.
