Bruno von Salzburg is a stunning, 14-month-old German Shepherd. This young cutie with the amber eyes and big smile is sweet and playful. He is eager for your attention and is gentle taking treats. Bruno is looking for an active home with another pup. At the rescue he looks forward to being with people and going on walks. All you have to tell him is “Let’s Go!,” and he starts bouncing around ready for your next adventure. Bruno is a smart boy who is housebroken and also knows commands like sit, down and paw. He is social around other dogs. He meets them well on leash during walks and enters playgroups happy with his tail wagging. He does great with pups with a gentle play style, and he often returns to you for cuddles. Bruno has lived in a home with young children and a small dog. Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
