My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Well, Elijah How is now thankfully a member of the Buster Family.  His name comes from how close he was found to Eliza Howell Park. We have dubbed him “Elijah How you wind up where you were all alone and hurt”?  We may never know what happened to him while running loose but it seems like he has nerve damage to his front leg.  Additionally, our boy is heartworm positive as well.  A super common but preventable issue for dogs kept outside in Detroit.  Don’t worry, we will get him all fixed up soon.  Most likely he will end up being a tripod (three legs) pup, but that’s ok.  He still gets around just fine.  He bonds quickly with seems to like other dogs.  We are working on getting him used to men as it seems he can be a little hesitant around them at the moment.  However, it is something we will work on and get him right as rain for his furever home!  His birthdate is around August 2020. Please apply to meet him at Busterdogs.com

More about this rescue

WHO WE ARE: The Buster Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing pit bulls and bully breed mixes. Through decades of cruelty, unethical breeding and irresponsible ownership, a once beloved family dog has now found itself the victim of discrimination and abuse, and a source of misdirected public fear. We believe that every dog is an individual, deserving of a loving home, proper care, and a fair shake, regardless of breed. We hope our efforts lead to a better educated and more compassionate public.

The Buster Foundation is an ALL VOLUNTEER organization, and does not operate a shelter. All Buster dogs are cared for in foster homes by volunteers who commit their homes and free time to rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption efforts.

We respect our volunteer's fierce commitment to our dogs and trust you will understand why we cannot always respond immediately to requests and inquiries. We make every effort to have a volunteer respond to inquiries and questions within 72 hours. We thank you for your understanding and patience! Please try again if you do not receive a response within 72 hours.
