Greta is a young cat that has been through a lot lately. She was a feral cat that gave birth to a litter in her finder's roof. She is the mother of our "G" kittens; Gaia, Giana, and Geneva (they have all been adopted!). Greta is still adjusting to a domesticated life surrounded by people. For now, she will warn you away with hisses and swats. We discovered that she does enjoy being pet with a back scratcher; she is just not quite ready for real hands yet. We are confident that given time and space, Greta will learn that people are here to care for her and love her. All Home Fur Good cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated appropriate for their age, tested for FIV/FELV and vet checked. Home Fur Good has trained adoption counselors to review and question any potential problems/issues with application. We do require an adoption fee which ranges for dogs $150-$300 and for cats $50-$100. All cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked.
If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.

Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.
We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip. Additionally we have a low cost dental clinic each Wednesday. Check our website for more details.
