My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zeus!

Did you know Zeus was the wisest of all the Greek Gods and he had white hair? We have a lot in common! But I'm Zeus from New Jersey (not Mount Olympus). Based on what I've overheard my current and previous foster moms say, they think I'm quite smart in how I adapt pretty quick to new environments even though I am blind. I'm a senior guy and weigh right around 50 pounds. Once I gain trust in you, I will be a companion at your side. I trust that you will lead me on the very best walks - and with you by my side, I don't need any special scenery! To make it easy on you, I'll even walk right by your side. (I have quite the regal prance!) I navigate pretty well inside and outside, but sometimes in new places I need your help to tell me to "be careful" before I bump into something or to "step" when I encounter stairs. In my current foster home, I am housetrained and am trusted to have full reign of the house, even when my family is gone! I'm not much for jumping on people or furniture. And, not to brag, but I'm pretty quiet too, my foster mom has never even heard me bark once!

I'm a really good boy about verbalizing being uncomfortable about something, which normally happens if I'm startled, especially around new people, so small children wouldn't be a great idea in my new home. I'm good at letting dogs know if they are being too much for me too, so calm dogs who are receptive of me needing a little time would be right up my alley. And I do a good job at taking cues from other dogs as well! Heck, I don't even mind cats! I haven't been around cats, but foster mom says she doesn't think I have any sort of prey drive so I might do okay with them! Now that I've been in my foster home for a while, foster mom says I don't make a peep, since I have the routine down and know everyone here a bit better! Perhaps your home could be my future Mount Olympus?

*Zeus has a dental appointment set for Sept 28, but can be adopted before then, so long as adopters take him to his appointment.
