Karol completely breaks our hearts sometimes. She wants your attention so desperately and once she's out of the kennel, making friends and getting lots of lovin', she puts the brakes on when it's time to go back. She just loves being with people! Karol is only about 4 years old and her former life was a sad one, judging by her condition when she arrived in Jan. 2023. At first, she was leery of meeting new people and took a bit to warm up to new friends. She's blossomed into a whole new dog since then, and while she may still exercise a little caution meeting someone new, it doesn't take much to win Karol over. She is a smushy-mushy girl that loves getting attention, she's great on a leash, she's housebroken, and she's very playful too. Unfortunately, she's best in a home with no other pets or young kids, but she would be the perfect loyal and loving companion if you just give her a chance. We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.

The mission of the Associated Humane Societies, Inc., including Popcorn Park Zoo, is to consistently provide the highest quality of care to all animals, domestic and wildlife, including their rescue, housing, veterinary care, placement whenever possible, and when required, a peaceful end. It is also our mission to prevent cruelty to all animals, primarily in New Jersey, but also throughout the United States. This shall be done through direct intervention as well as the promotion of humane education regarding the proper care and treatment of animals at both public and private levels, thereby advancing the humane treatment of animals everywhere.
