My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paris & Marseille have had such a rough start to life! Living in who knows what kind of conditions where they were clearly used as breeding machines and then became throw away moms, left tied out on a real feel day of 105 degrees with no shade, no water, but they had each other, and still had hope! Little did they know, that when found, they would be brought to a high-kill-shelter., that has had to revert to pop crates in hallways, sickbays, and evaluation rooms to make space for the unbelievable number of animals they are getting in. With limited resources and with how overwhelmed the shelter has been, the girls were quickly lost in the system, they were separated. Paris ended up in the small dog wing and Marseille ended up in the large dog wing. It just so happened that one of our volunteers saw them when they came in and saw the love they had for each other so when she was there next, she asked about them. She spent time with Paris first, taking her out to the play area, thinking she would see the happy girl she saw when she first met the girls. But Paris stood still trembling with fear and sadness, alone and without the only family she had left, Marseille. Paris tucked her head in our volunteer’s lap, and would not lift it, clearly, she was feeling defeated. Our volunteer wanted to bring Marseille out to spend time with Paris but was not allowed so she brought Paris inside and then took Marseille out. The once upon a time, not long before, happy big sister (we say big sister because Marseille treats Paris like her little sister) was also feeling lost! Marseille too was afraid, so very sad and feeling the same loneliness that Paris was feeling. Marseille looked at the volunteer with her big eyes and gave her such a gentle lick, as if she were asking for help. Paris and Marseille’s hope was dwindling!

We could not help but commit to taking them both! Not exactly having space ourselves but we made the space to give them back what they had lost, due to no fault of their own, each other and a chance to forever be together. They are together again now and are so very happy! They absolutely adore each other! Each having their own personalities yet similarities. They eat together, play together, sleep together, look for each other, follow each other and have the cutest walks, wobbles, in their little yet very muscular stocky bodies. Oddly they even play fetch, only odd because that is not really their breed thing, but it’s their thing lol. Two balls go flying into the back yard, two little minions go flying after the balls and come running back with their prizes, so cute! Paris and Marseille are so much fun to be around, so silly, each having so much character! They really are such sweethearts and are doing so well together in foster care! They are fully vetted, including vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. All they need now is fur-ever family they can call their own which they are patiently waiting for yet hope to meet soon!

Please apply to adopt them together or if interested in learning more, please reach out! We look forward to hearing from you!
