My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mak – big & bold, 3 year old, male Anatolian Shepherd. Owner can no longer keep due to domestic situation. Mak is current on vaccinations but is not neutered. He is good with other large dogs and kids 6+. He can be slow to warm up to adults, but comes around if not ‘pressed’ into it. Like most Anatolian's he is very protective of his people and yard. Mak is crate trained, and finds them comforting. He is house trained & lets you know when he needs to go out. He also knows some tricks, like sit, speak, whisper, shake, and lay down. He needs a stable home with a fenced in big yard to run and play. Mak walks well on a short leash, he doesn't bark or lunge at ppl walking by.

PLEASE NOTE: To be considered for this dog you MUST have prior GSD/Guardian dog experience. Vet check and a home with securely fenced yard required – NO EXCEPTIONS ! NO cats, small dogs or kids under 6. NO calls please, email only. Adoption Donation: $150. More about this rescue

FOCCAS, Inc. - Shepherd & Husky Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit 100% volunteer organization formed in 2010 to assist in rescuing, re-homing and providing for the medical needs of homeless pets in Citrus County.

FOCCAS, Inc. is a registered charity in the State of FL and has 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. We have no paid employees or directors. We are 100% volunteer-based. All donations are used to help the animals. Our volunteers & fosters provide their own transportation for themselves and rescue pets to adoption events, veterinary care, and other rescue groups. Often our pets require extensive medical care for conditions or injuries sustained prior to their arrival @ our rescue. Surgeries and x-rays are the most common. We rely entirely on donations and fundraising efforts.
