Meet Lana! This beautiful soul would be the perfect match for just about anyone. Lana was a young mom found as a stray with her kittens. Now, at just about a year old, she is a laid-back kitty with plenty of affection to give! This beauty loves to be pet and to be close to her humans. Lana can be an only cat or would be a great housemate to other cats or dogs. What more can you ask for? Lana’s foster family adores her, but she needs to find a forever home of her own.

The first step in our process is to fill out our online application at our website, www.care4strays.org. Once received, it will be reviewed by one of our trained volunteers. If approved, we'll be in touch to arrange a "meet and greet" with the animal. All of our cats/dogs are in private foster homes.

More about this rescue

Since our founding in 1995 by Lynn Cancro, Caring About The Strays (C.A.T.S.), Inc. has worked to find “forever homes” for abandoned, unwanted, neglected, or abused companion animals.

All the animals in our care are in foster homes, which helps socialize the cat or dog and allows us to identify the best type of home for each animal to ensure a successful adoption. We also work to reduce the overpopulation of feral cats with our Trap-Neuter-Release program. In addition, our team also strives to educate the public about the importance of spaying or neutering their pets to decrease the number of unwanted pets.

C.A.T.S. is not a shelter in the traditional sense; we rely on private foster homes to house the many unwanted animals in our care.

Our Resale Shop (80 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood, NJ) helps fund our efforts. Please consider donating to our Resale Shop. Donations of brand-new and gently-used items are needed year-round and can be donated during shop hours Monday – Saturday 10:00 – 5:00.
