Karen is a 3 yr old female spayed Chihuahua mix. She does have a Cherry Eye in her right eye but it does not cause her any issues at this time. She is extremely timid and nervous around new people and takes time to warm up. She needs someone that will go slow with her and help her build up her confidence
Karen was part of a hoarding situation group so there are a few things you need to know about her. Karen has limited social skills but we have been working with her to build confidence. She needs a patient adopter that will show her lots of love to help her adapt and blossom into the wonderful girl we know she is. She likes/needs the company of another dog. She’s always been surrounded by lots of other dogs so she gets a little anxious when alone.
She is crate trained but will have the occasional accident in the crate if left in for too long as most dogs will do. She will bark in her crate initially but does settle down. Apartment living is probably not ideal for her. She will walk on a leash for her person but will not let strangers walk her. She is housetrained but will have occasional accidents but tries to make it outside. With her nervous nature there may be accidents in the beginning until she trusts her new person and learns their routine.
