"Hi there. My name is Penny. I came here as a stray on August 17, after hanging around "Carlinville Cuttoff Road." Neighbors who met me while I was there said they think I was dumped...I just waited in the same spot, hoping and waiting. They could tell I recently had pups, but they were no where to be found. Folks were all so kind; they gave me water, took pictures of me and posted me everywhere, saying how sweet I am. Sadly, no one claimed me. I don't know why, because I've got lots of good qualities. I'm young and only about 40 pounds. Not too small, but not big. I try hard to be a good girl. I know how to sit. They tested me with cats, and I didn't react. I've gotten reactive to dogs since I've been here. Sorry to say I'm not great at leash-walking. I need some lessons on that or a fenced yard instead. 😄 BUT, I recently went for a doggie-spa day and did great! I'm dreaming of a family who will give me hugs, treats and maybe even my own comfy dog bed...or a place on the couch! But I'd even settle for a just a blanket on the floor, as long as I get hugs. I'm ready to start a new life; maybe you can come visit me and see!"
