'Sweet, kind, gentle, friendly, loveable, snuggly, well behaved, trustworthy, easy going and wonderful!' Hi my name is Rusty Boy and that's how my foster mom describes me. Yep she says I'm pretty much close to perfection. I'll give you the basics, I am a 6-year-old male that weighs 70 lbs.
I came into rescue from a local shelter with no details about my past. My coat was dirty so I must have spent some time in a yard before. Still, I had no accidents at my foster parent's house, I am completely housetrained. I even know how to use the doggie door.
I love to be with my people and I am the happiest when I am by their side. I also love the other dogs in the house and I give them sweet kisses. I like playing with them tug of war or just carry around a plush toy. I have not been around cats. I think I might get along with a very dog savvy cat though as I have a sweet nature and would not want to hurt anyone. Yet, I chase rabbits if given the opportunity.
I walk excellent on a leash. I like to follow my humans around the house, so I'm clingy, but I'm polite (mostly) about it. Yet sometimes I will put my head in my human's lap for some good ear rubs and could sit there for hours. I also love belly rubs very much. The truth is I really want to be with the people I LOVE all the time. Still, I am fine if I am left alone at home, I am not destructive. I will just wait by the door for you to come home.
I am good with kids all ages. I can go to a home as an only dog or as a companion with other dogs. I am quite active for my age but I settle down well after a long morning walk. I would make a great companion for long walks, hikes and even jogs.
Ideally, I would like to find myself a family that is home most of the day, but I am fine being left alone at home for short periods as well.
