My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS A COURTESY POST FOR A DOG LOCATED IN BETHUNE, SC. IF INTERESTED, PLEASE CALL ASHLEE TAYLOR AT 803-713-4521.

Link appears to be a mix of corgi and beagle, estimated to be about 3 years old and weighing 15 to 20 lbs. He has been kept mostly as an outdoor dog because he is not house trained and seems to like being outside. Link enjoys the company of his owner's small dog but is intimidated by her pit bull. A home with another small dog would probably be fine, but not a large dog. He's also good with her young children. Link is scared of/barks at strangers, which makes him a good watch dog, but he will need some time to bond with a new family. He has had a DAPP vaccine. If you can provide a home for Link, please call Ashlee.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Please email info@savethestrays.org for our application.

2.

Interview

We check applicants' vet references (if applicable) and personal references, then interview the applicants.

3.

Meet the Pet

Once approved, applicants can meet the dog and, if they like it, complete the adoption and take it home.

Additional adoption info

We are a home and foster care-based rescue, with no shelter facility or employees. Because our rescue dogs live in private homes, we ask those interested in adopting from us to complete our application as the first step in our process and only set up an appointment to meet the dog(s) in which they are interested after they are approved to adopt. Use our online application or email info@savethestrays.org to request an application.

More about this rescue

Save the Strays Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer 501c3 public charity and no-kill humane organization founded in 2004. Our mission is to rescue and rehome unwanted and abandoned dogs and provide lifelong care for any that are not adopted.

All of our dogs receive age-appropriate vaccinations. Dogs six months and older are spayed or neutered and tested for heartworms before adoption. Some of the dogs we rescue and make available for adoption are older, have suffered injuries or have treatable medical conditions. These have included blind dogs, deaf dogs, dogs with amputations, congenital deformities, and limited mobility, and dogs with heart conditions, diabetes and other chronic disorders. We disclose all known health conditions to potential adopters.

Because we do not euthanize rescued dogs to make room for others, some of these dogs may be with us for a number of years or even for life. Your donations help us pay for the care they need to maintain their quality of life in a loving home environment.
