Are you a chihuahua whisperer? If so, Aurora may be the dog for you.
Aurora is 3-4 years old and weighs just 8lbs. Her past is a mystery, but it’s clear she was never taught that humans can be safe. Thankfully, that’s slowly changed since she came to our rescue. She’s placed with one of our superstar fosters who has helped her heal bit by bit. Now Aurora will allow safe touch once she feels comfortable with someone. We expect her confidence to grow by leaps and bounds.
If you are one of those unique adopters, which GLAR is lucky to sometimes find, who chooses the dogs hardest to adopt, please consider Aurora. She will need to practice trusting for the long run and needs a special and patient person (or people ) who understands that trust takes time. While GLAR commits to dogs like Aurora instead of turning them away, our ultimate dream is that she can continue to learn she is safe in a forever family.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Please allow 5-7 business days to receive a response. Will be reviewed by Günter's Legacy Animal Rescue Board of Directors.

2.
Interview

If the board approves your application you may receive a call for a phone interview.

3.
Home Check

If application receives initial approval, we will schedule a mandatory home visit. Please note, if you rent we do check with the landlord.

4.
Meet the Pet

We will schedule a meet and greet with the potential adopters and dog(s). It is required all members of the adoptive family must be present.

5.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Existing pets, required all the pets are properly introduced by GLAR. We will not adopt a dog into a home that has reached it's city mandate

6.
Sign Adoption Contract

If app, home check, and meet and greet are approved we move forward with signing the contract.

7.
Pay Fee

The adoption fee can be paid by PayPal, cash, or check but must be paid at the time of signing the contract. The adoption fee is non-refund

Additional adoption info

We do not adopt to households with children under the age of 10 years old.

We do not adopt out of state.

When considering adopting a dog please remember some dogs can live to be 15 into their 20s.

We do not adopt to people looking for a dog as a gift.

We do not adopt further than 1.5 hours from us.

We do not have a facility we are a foster-based rescue. All of our dogs are in foster homes, you cannot meet the dog before you are an approved adopter.
