Gracie was born on May 20th, 2017 in Oklahoma. She was brought to Des Moines IA by Hope Rescue, who now are refusing to assist with finding a foster family for her. Anne adopted her in June 2020.
Gracie had been severely abused. At 1st it took Anne over 5 minutes of gentle coaching to get Gracie brave enough to go outside to her large, privacy fenced in back yard!
Anne paid a dog trainer to befriend her and then she'd take her on hikes with a group of dogs. She has come a long way since then!
She still is scared of new people she meets, just give them a chicken treat to give to her, instant friends!
I have had Gracie living with me since Anne, went into the hospital and then passed away on January 10th, 2023.
I have been trying to find a new home for Gracie since then.
She is very scared of thunder but playing soothing music for her helps.
I am allergic to dogs and am really needing to find a good home for her.
She is a sweet dog who would benefit living with another pup.
