My name is Jewels and I am a true GEM of a dog. I am a Black Mouth Cur Mix. The shelter handlers say I am a sweet guarded girl who just needs confidence with strangers. I attach to people very quickly once I get to know them and I have a calm demeanor. I speak when I have something to say. I know how to sit and stay, and love being with my person. I would make an EXCELLENT ranch dog as I’m very outdoorsy. PLUS, I’m dog friendly too!
The shelter says that I can only be released to a Rescue Group due to behavior with strangers . They just never gave me the training to understand that strangers can be friends too. I sometimes growl and my back hackles go up when I am approached by a stranger because, well, I am afraid of what they might do to me.
I was very well taken care of so I'm very sad that my owner didn’t come to find me. I sure hope they are OK. I’m potty trained with no medical history and weigh about 50 pounds.
