Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Beebee is a lovely 1.5 year old mix breed that traveled all the way to us from Alabama recently. Sadly, her and her 8 puppies were in a high intake shelter there and were on the euthanasia list, as they had no room in the shelter. When we got the email about this, we just HAD to get her to us! Thanks to the shelter in AL and our wonderful volunteers, Beebee and her 8 pups made it out safe! All her babies have found homes, so now it is Beebee's turn to find her family! This spunky gal is a lover of many things. Food is probably her first love, chomping down her food and treats like a champ! All our dog walkers marvel over her tennis ball playing skills and also her fascination for catching bugs! This girl just loves to have fun! Beebee is working on her leash walking manners. Taking a toy out for walks has helped her not think her leash is a tug toy and dog walkers have reported that most days she is doing well, but others she still gets a little over excited about her leash! Most recently, Beebee went downtown with one of our volunteers on a Rent-a-Rover. They stopped at the hot dog stand for a little snack, then took a walk down the road to the ice cream stand! What a treat that was! Beebee was said to be great on her leash, as well as excited to see all the new people! Beebee does seem to like all adults she has met, but has had some not so great experiences with children in the past. Before coming to us, the child in the home down south was allowed to wrestle with her and we think this has caused some trauma with kids. Because of this, we think that she will be best with kids that are dog savvy and 10+ years old. However, Beebee loves canine friends and would enjoy another dog to love and play with in her new home! No cats though, please! Do you think that you are the family that needs Beebee in your life?! If so, please visit us Wed-Sat 12-4 during our open hours! If you are interested in potentially adopting the same day, we do recommend submitting an application for approval.
