I am a very sweet boy with a shy side to me. I can take a bit of time to come around, but when I do you will see my loving personality! I can be quite playful and mingle with the other cats in the room and play with the toys. I enjoy sitting back and observing everything around me. I really like watching nature outside. I am a big fan of taking long naps! I often am hanging out somewhere up high and a bit hidden, I do like to come out in the morning when there less going on in the catroom. I would do better in a home that has less foot traffic as it can be a lot for me. I do enjoy getting pets and all the loving! I am still learning what it means to love humans and I am growing every day! I really am a sweet and goofy boy!

I would do fine in a home with another cat who is looking for a playmate and a cuddle partner, and I may do okay with a cat friendly dog with a slow and positive introduction. I may also be okay as an only cat. I would do best in a home with older children (8+) pending observation. I can be very unsure at first and may take some time to come around to the new environment. I do not enjoy being picked up; I will tolerate it for a bit, but I will let you know when I have had enough.

I know I would make a lovely companion for the right person, couple, or family! I am looking for my purrfect fit!

Our application is available on our website, HSSCM.ORG

Approve Application

Processing takes 3-5 business days. We are currently not scheduling any visits without an approved application.

3.
Meet the Pet

After approval, we will schedule you/your household to visit + meet the pet of interest.

4.
Take the Pet Home

At the end of your visit, we would be able to complete adoption papers + you will take your new companion home!

Additional adoption info

All adoptions begin with an application on our main website, HSSCM.ORG.
Once your application is competed and submitted, processing generally takes 3 business days- pending our schedule and the number of applications ahead of yours. Once processed we will contact you and, if approved, will set up an appointment for an adoption counsel. If you are looking to adopt a dog and have a current dog in the home, we will require a match-up before finalizing any adoption.

About Us:
We are the area's nonprofit advocate, sanctuary and source for companion animals since 1887.

Our Mission:
-to protect animals from suffering and cruelty
-to provide safe and responsible care for unwanted or abused companion animals
-to enhance the lives of animals and people through education, adoption, and foster care.

We believe in second chances at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Our service area includes all of Calhoun County and parts of Kalamazoo, Barry and Branch counties. We keep animals as long as it takes to find a good home for adoption once the animal passes temperament testing and is checked for good health. The Watkins Road shelter cares for up to 100 animals a day, and adopts out more than 500 animals a year. Countless area residents use the Society’s animal care, adoption and education programs each year. The Humane Society is overseen by a board of directors. We do not receive any government or tax dollars, or national humane organization funding. Our services are made possible by people in our community who care about homeless cats and dogs - people like you!
