Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nami is a sweet pup who loves snuggles and giving hugs. She was surrendered to rescue in Mexico when her owner could no longer care for her. She spent about 9 months in a foster home before recently being flown to PA. She is very timid at first, especially with men but, once she realizes you’ll be caring for her, she warms up pretty quickly. She LOVES to be hugged and held! She’s very easy going. She is still learning basic commands but I think she might know more than I realize because I think she knew a lot in Spanish before! With that said, she knows sit, knows her name and takes redirection well (No is the same in either language!) She previously lived with 4 other dogs and is currently being fostered with mine who is just a little bigger and slightly older than she is. She plays nicely with other dogs and can coexist easily. I think she could be happy as the only dog or living with one other dog. I say one other because she loves getting attention from her person so idk how much she’d love sharing it with more than one furry sibling. She likes her space when she’s eating but can be fed at the same time as other dogs. She LOVES toys and can entertain herself with something to throw around! Nami is pretty good on a leash but could use some additional training. We are working on crate training. She isn’t destructive but gets upset when we leave her alone in her crate. She sleeps well in her crate at night but the crate has to be in our bedroom. Otherwise, she can mostly be trusted if left out. Nami has not met any kids or cats. Nami will be attending our Adoption Event at the Chester Fairgrounds 11 Kirtland Terrace Chester, CT on Friday, Sept 29 3-5pm (Appointments Only); Saturday, Sept 30 from 9 am - 4 pm & Sunday, Oct 1st from 9 am - 3 pm. Fill out an online Application to get the adoption process started. We Approve Adopters to adopt a dog at the event but the decision on who adopts a specific dog is made by the Rescue as we want the dogs to go to a home that is a great fit for them.
