Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Lexie, the playful pup who's on a quest to find her forever home!
Lexie is an energetic 5-year-old mix of great Pyrenees and yellow Labrador retriever, and she's young at heart, bursting with boundless energy!
Lexie's foster mom can't help but smile as she watches Lexie zoom around the yard, running figure 8s like a champ. Her bursts of excitement are infectious and a joy to witness, lasting for about 15 minutes.
But Lexie's not just about the zoomies; she's also a sweetheart when it comes to kids. She adores spending time with them, and she's incredibly aware of her size, making her a gentle giant around the little ones. As for adults, Lexie might be a bit reserved initially, taking about 12 hours to warm up to women and 24 hours for men.
Lexie is quite adaptable when it comes to other pets in your home. She'll ignore cats and squirrels nearby, but if they decide to dash, she might give chase—it's all in good fun! Lexie gets along well with other dogs too, though she won't hesitate to establish herself as the "top dog" if necessary. Yet, she's always up for some friendly playtime!
What makes Lexie even more amazing is her house manners. She's impeccably house-trained and knows how to follow the rules. Instead of toys or bones, she prefers spending her time interacting with people and other animals.
If Lexie has captured your heart (and we're sure she has!), consider giving her the loving home she deserves.
Lexie is estimated to be five years old and 78 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting.
We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events!
