Evie
8.5 years old (DOB 5/11/2015); 13.2 lbs.
Spayed, UTD on vaccines, HW negative and on prevention
MPMR requires all dogs in the home to be on heartworm prevention, spayed or neutered, and current on vaccines unless there is a verifiable reason by a vet.
Meet Evie. This girl adores women and takes a bit of time (treats help) to warm up to men. She is learning about toys now that her teeth have been cleaned and will sometimes briefly play tug with her person.
Evie will gladly do anything for snacks. She is quite friendly once she trusts and eager to snuggle with someone on top of or under blankets. She also has more energy than you'd expect from a dog her age and will make a good walking buddy, though she does need some work on leash training and would probably do best with a fenced yard.
In her foster home, Evie quickly learned where the door was that leads outside, and she has done extremely well letting us know when she needs to go out to do her business. At some point in her past, she had a home as she knows a few commands including "sit," "get down," and "dance." We are still working on "come."
She will do best as someone's one and only as she thrives on people attention and does not care much for other dogs. She tolerates them in her foster home, but the difference in her behavior when she is the only one near her people is drastic. She is much friendlier when she doesn't have to concern herself with sharing someone's lap.
As she is quite a barker. No apartments or condos.
Evie has some pain in her neck from something that happened in her past. She takes Galliprant daily (a 90 count bottle lasts her 6 months). Without it, she would not allow anyone to pick her up due to neck pain, but on the medication, she does allow it albeit with some hesitance until she knows you.
