My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Fay, a 1-year-old retriever mix who is ready to find her forever home! This sweet and timid pup is currently residing at the shelter, working on building her confidence and overcoming her fears.

This clever pup is highly food-motivated, making her an excellent candidate for learning new tricks and basic obedience skills. With some yummy treats as motivation, Fay is sure to impress you with her intelligence and eagerness to please.

Fay's ideal home would be one that understands her needs and is willing to help her grow and flourish. She would thrive in a household with another confident dog as a role model, as they can guide her and show her that the outside world is a safe and fun place to explore.

As Fay can be easily startled by loud noises and cars driving by, a closed-in backyard would provide her with a safe and secure environment. This will allow her to gradually overcome her fears and help her feel more at ease in her surroundings.

If you are a patient and compassionate person looking to make a positive impact on a shelter dog's life, Fay could be the perfect match for you. With time, love, and understanding, Fay will surely blossom into a confident and happy companion.

Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things she will look to you for.

Chewing, teething, and learning what is Okay and not Okay to put in her mouth are all part of the puppy experience. And, be prepared for the time and money for frequent trips to the vet during the first few months so she can get up to date on her boosters and vaccines.

But most of all, be prepared for all of the LOVE, puppy kisses, and joy she will bring into your life.

I am an All-Star dog! My adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and I will go home with my very own no pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get us off to a good start. To learn more about me or to schedule an appointment to meet me, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
