My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What a beautiful, young, and sweet little girl, trotting so gracefully alongside what appeared to be her family, softly looking up at them every so often, wagging her tail the entire time. At first glance, we thought she was a puppy, but then saw her swollen teats hanging down to the ground, indicating that she recently had puppies (but no pups in sight). This is how we met Lacey! Lacey’s family was arguing, we couldn’t hear what they were saying, nor did we want to, but we were certain what was coming, as they paced, dragging her back and forth like a ragdoll, on the block in front of the shelter. Lacey must have sensed something was wrong, but sure she never imagined what would happen next. Her leash was handed over to a shelter employee as her family walked away, leaving her behind. She was afraid, but so brave, looking back for them while moving forward, as an obedient good girl would do. The shelter noticed us noticing her, her noticing us, and told us not to worry that they would keep us posted; they did! Lacey was surrendered as a stray, her owners lied, to not have to pay a surrender fee; they left no notes about the things she likes, her favorite food, toys, what commands she might know, if storms scare, if she likes to cuddle, nothing, they left her with nothing but her name. Lacey is young, she’s only 1 year old, weights approx. 44 pounds and is a bit of a lower rider. She’s a healthy, happy pup, who will come full vetted, including spayed and microchipped. Though she’s finding the shelter a little overwhelming she scored a Level 1 which is one of the best ratings a trainer can give, she meets everyone with a loose, wiggly body and loves getting treats. Sadly, Lacey is in a high-kill-shelter and is quickly running out of time! If you are interested in her, please don’t hesitate, reach out to us soon!
