My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Goddess of the sky and earth, Hera is searching the skies for a family to love! She has the smoothest fur and freckles with a few surprise tufts of fluff that make pets just the very best!

Hera is picky on who she allows into her inner circle so her future mom or dad will need to be very special. Hera would prefer to be your one and only (no sharing of snuggles will be permitted!). But if you find the right people, you can let your guard down, gradually trust them, and allow your real personality to emerge. If you are lucky enough to be accepted by Hera, she will bathe your face in kisses. Like a literal bath!

My favorite things:
Being outside! I love to soak in the sun, smell all the smells, and adventure with my trainers.
Cream cheese and chicken are my favorite treats
Watching out the living room window
Long walks
Booty scratches (once we a friends)
I like to sleep in the human bed!

Cues that I know:
Sit, down
Touch
Place/Relaxation
Working on muzzle training
Loose leash walking
Potty trained

How am I doing in foster?

"Hera is a bundle of joy and personality. She fits in perfectly to my routine as it's just her and me! That is where Hera thrives. She likes it when her human friends come over to visit but wants quality time between us. We go multiple times a week to the forest preserve, and she loves all the sniffs! She may try to chase a squirrel or two but can be redirected with treats. I have been helping Hera prepare for her forever home by teaching her manners when people enter the house. You are in for a wonderful dog, if you pick Hera" -Hera's foster mom

Hera is an All-Star dog! Her adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and she will go home with her very own no pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Hera, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
