My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mackerel (aka Mack, Mackedude, Cat).  This stunningly handsome guy is a little over a year old and was rescued after being dumped on the streets of Philly.  How anyone could dump this curious, goofy, and extremely soft furball is still a mystery.  In foster, Mackerel lives with two resident dogs.  He was a bit hesitant around them for a few days but has learned to accept that they weren’t going anywhere and now will make attempts to play with them.  He does great with the litter box (no accidents) and doesn’t scratch anything other than his scratch mats.  He is still learning how to cat, so he can be a bit mouthy when he plays or wants his alone time.  Because of that, a house with no young children is recommended.  He has not been tested around other cats, but with proper introduction, he could make a good playmate.  He may even be the “dog” you’ve always wanted – he enjoys chasing his tail, as well as playing with tennis balls, dog bones, and counter-surfing AND he requires no walking in the cold weather being an indoor only fella! Although not really a lap cat, Mackerel does like hanging around his people and being where the action is. Please email katymk@ptd.net for more information or complete the below application link. His adoption fee is $150 and he is neutered, current on vaccines, FeLV/FIV negative and microchipped. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHPA/CatApril 25, 2024, 5:03 pm
