Willow

Get ready to fall in love! Willow is an amazing dog who is looking for the right home. She is breathtakingly beautiful with fancy markings and two different colored eyes. She is affectionate and loyal towards her people. She is like a woodland nymph - dancing through the forests with beauty and joy.

Willow had a tough start to life. Initially, she was in a high kill shelter in the South. She was pregnant. A rescue group transported her up here. She had her puppies and she was adopted out. However, her new family was unable to meet her needs.

My family took her in. From the beginning, Willow was exuberantly affectionate with us. Despite her size, she really wants to be a "lap dog". Because of her size and strength, Willow should not live with young children.

Willow enjoys long walks in the woods. Walking with her is a beautiful experience! You almost feel like you are gliding through the forest.

But, Willow is reactive towards other dogs. We are working on this and she is responding well to positive reinforcement training. But, she will need to be with a walker who is both strong and firm. She would benefit from professional training. Willow requires a home where she is the "only pet".

Medical tests revealed that Willow was suffering from a bad case of heartworm. Luckily, through Broken Tail, Willow went through the lengthy process of heartworm treatment. The treatment involved three injections, medications, and complete crate rest. She is now done with treatment and is active and healthy.

Crate-trained and house-trained, Willow is one smart pup. She knows commands and is a good learner. She should be the only pet in her home, no other dogs or cats please.

The adoption fee is $450.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
