Junior is a 10 year old cat who is pretty special. Junior had an owner who loved him very much. Junior had a megacolon. His colon did not properly contract so stool would get backed up making the colon very large and Junior unable to pass stool. As you can imagine this is a very painful condition. Juniors dad put him on medicine help his colon contract and laxatives to help him pass stool easier. Even with these medications Junior still had to have enemas every 3 months. Juniors dad had been saving up money for Junior to have a surgery to remove his colon so he would no longer need to take medication. Unfortunately Juniors dad passed away before this was possible. Junior's new caretaker had no idea how much care Junior needed and after several months of caring for him he took him to Dr. Lindsay to be euthanized. Dr. Lindsay just couldn't do it. She knew that is not what Juniors dad wanted for him. So Dr. Lindsay performed this life changing surgery on him and now Junior is doing great! This surgery cost $1200. Now he poops more than a normal cat, his feces is softer, and he needs a canned food diet but other than that he is a normal boy!
