My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rebel is a 6-year-old male Shar-Pei/English Bulldog mix with a heart full of love. He's looking for a new forever home in Hagerstown, Maryland, following the passing of his beloved owner. Rebel is a loyal and affectionate companion who would thrive in a calm and understanding environment. Key Information: Age: 6 years old Breed: Shar-Pei/English Bulldog mix Neutered: Not neutered Compatibility: Rebel is best suited for a home without small kids or male dogs, as he had a rough experience with young children in his previous home. Cat Alert: Rebel may chase cats if he spots them in the yard, so a cat-free environment would be ideal. Health: Up to date on shots and house trained. Rebel's life has seen some recent changes, with the loss of his owner and his current caregiver preparing for hip and knee surgeries. This sweet boy is in need of a loving family to provide the stability and care he deserves. If you're interested in opening your heart and home to Rebel, please reach out to Danny at 240-675-9090. Your kindness could make all the difference in Rebel's world. Let's find this loyal companion the safe and loving forever home he deserves. ***Disclaimer*** Unfortunately, there are not enough rooms at the inn to admit every dog that needs a furever home. But, we still want to help those dogs (and cats) on their journey! By courtesy posting, AAHA is offering our website/network as an additional resource to help an owner or shelter gain additional exposure for the dog they are trying to place. AAHA has not met nor evaluated the dog (or cat) we are courtesy posting. AAHA makes no representation about courtesy posted pets including the health and temperament and accepts no liability in this exchange. Arrangements for adoptions are made between the caretaker of the pet and the potential adopter.May 2, 2024, 9:53 am

Go meet their pets

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
