This adorable girl is approx 6 years old and 35 lbs,she is a little on the chubby side and could do to lose some weight
we did a dna test on Pepper and she is mainly Australian cattle dog with 13 other breeds mixed in....
she is a really well behaved dog and hangs out most of the time on her own,she really doesn’t like to play very much with the other rescues , but occasionally will join in to a game of tag
she has a great disposition and loves people, she will follow her foster everywhere
she would do great as an only dog or with a couple of laid back buddies
she tested positive for heartworms when we rescued her and has been treated with the AHS required number of shots and we usually find that the dogs test negative in 4 to 6 months
she is also on a monthly heartworm preventative.
OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years.
WE REQUIRE AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER
The total adoption fee of $500 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper , and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at

We require all adopters to fill out an initial application so that we can check references. We try to match our dogs with a family that fits the needs and individuality of our homeless pets. We work tirelessly to find the right homes with people who will love their pets for a lifetime. We do this through email, phone, and any other means of communication to ensure a good fit.
