Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Dino!
When you hear the name Dino, do you picture a large, ferocious dinosaur? Well that’s silly, because I’m just the opposite! I’m a teeny tiny 7 pound 12 year old toy poodle with an amusing personality. One of the first things you’ll notice when meeting me is my funny little old man gait. The vet says I have “luxating patellas” which just means my kneecaps tend to pop out of place. Don’t worry, I have likely been this way most of my life, so I have learned to get along just fine! I can’t climb stairs, but have no problem being carried (and I am as light as a feather!)
I get along fine with other dogs, big and small. I have not been around cats, but my foster mom thinks that I would be fine there as well - I tend to keep to myself and stay out of my housemates’ way. I would also do best with older kids that aren’t too in my face. Despite my tiny stature, I do have a big voice! I will use it to let you know when I’m hungry, or need to go potty, or just want some attention. I also make the funniest little grumble sounds when you give me scritchy-scratchies…they are my favorite!
I have a great appetite and am an excellent napper. I also sleep perfectly through the night. I will go potty every time you take me outside, but sometimes accidents indoors still happen, and that is easily prevented with a little belly band. I am great on car rides and just recently took a ride to get my teeth cleaned - I ended up getting a bunch pulled, so I only have a few left…but my mouth feels so much better! I also am up to date on my vaccinations and have had senior bloodwork done, which looked excellent.
It can take me a minute to warm up to new people and situations, but once I get comfortable I am a sweet little companion. While mostly independent, I savor my moments of cuddles and play, and will grumble-grumble my way right into your heart!
