Luna for Adoption or Adopt with Jack - 2 Beautiful Tortie Cat Girls !

Please Email dcmcats@yahoo.com

These pretty cat girls are older kitties in need of new homes. Their owner and his family have come into a situation where they can no longer keep them. Luna and Jack have been indoor cats since they were adopted as kittens. They will occasionally both sit together in their owners lap. Their owner is taking them for check ups at the vet and can supply a litter box (or 2 if necessary), toys, and a ceramic drinking fountain.

- Luna has lovely Tortoiseshell markings and is primarily black. She is a high energy, goofy chatterbox once she feels secure, her personality shows through. If her person is in the room she will want constant attention and lap time. Luna loves to play and have fun! She is, however, skeptical of strangers and takes some time to warm up to them. Once she is comfortable, she is very interactive & sweet, and quite talkative! She is somewhat dependent on Jack. Her estimated birthday is 2/26/13. She is microchipped.

- Jack has a classic tortoiseshell coat and her face is blonde on 1 side. She is a very sweet, calm, and affectionate. She is very quiet and patient. Jack likes sitting on her owner’s lap and has always taken well to visitors/strangers and will often take to a visitor’s lap without delay. She is fairly independent, but happy to play and enjoys companionship. Jack would be fine being the only cat or can be adopted with Luna who is somewhat dependent on her. Her estimated birthday is 3/1/12.

If you are interested in adopting either or both of these 2 beautiful sweet Tortie girls, please email dcmcats@yahoo.com for an application. Please also include a little about yourself and your household in your reply and what your typical daily and weekend schedule is like.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We do an e-mail/phone interview so we can help match you to our adoptable cats. You may also try out a cat to adopt! Adoptions are finalized with an adoption agreement. We hope to adopt our cats only to forever homes, but we will always take back a cat that is adopted from us should the adopter be unable to keep the cat due to unforeseen circumstances.

We also have cats available for fostering! Fosters fill out a questionnaire so we can help match you up.

Our adopters and fosters must be local to the Greater New Orleans area. We do not adopt out of state or transport cats out of the general area.

Hours to view our adoptable cats are by appointment and hours are flexible. Please contact us at NolasArkCats@yahoo.com Thank you for visiting our page and kitties for adoptions and/or fostering.

More about this rescue

OUR MISSION

NOLA’s Ark Cats, Inc. ("NOLA’s Ark Cats") mission is to offer services to the community of the Greater New Orleans area for the care of homeless cats and kittens. Such services include, but are not limited to: daily care and medical attention for homeless cats and kittens (including veterinary care and purchases of food and other supplies); foster and adoption options; neuter-trap-release for feral and homeless cats; and expertise and assistance to the community and to other caregivers of feral colonies. NOLA’s Ark Cats works to establish a network of animal caregivers whereby people can share ideas/information and offer assistance to each other. NOLA’s Ark Cats further aims to educate the community, and to invite participation by the community in the care of cats.

We are an ALL VOLUNTEER organization, so any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Here are some ways that you can help us and our family of furry kitty critters:

Foster: Provide a temporary home to an adult or younger cat or two.

Donate: Food, scoopable litter, and comfort items (toys, blankets, crates, beds) are always needed!

Medical Care Help: We have an account with a local veterinarian, so donations can be made directly to our account for vet care, and you will know that every cent went toward the much needed care of the cats.

TNR Program: We are also looking for kind people with back yards and porches to accommodate feral and semi-feral outside cats for our Trap-Neuter-Return trapper and cat caretaker friends.

We cannot accept cats from the general public but we are happy to help with advice on how to find homes and screen potential adopters.
