💚Adopt Vicky, a “Coconut Retriever” from the Virgin Islands: Humane Society of St. Thomas. Coconut retrievers are smart, energetic, and affectionate. They are the most loyal dogs, highly trainable, and thrive on routines and consistency.

Vicky is the happiest, most thankful puppy. You can see her pure joy in her smile every day. If there were the (best) puppy award, she would win 🥇. She is not only fully crate trained, but she sleeps through the night without a peep. She has learned that it is “okay” to be alone and relaxes on her own. She is very food motivated, loves playtime, and affection. She is doing well with potty training and as long as you remain on top of it, she’s perfect. She has even sat by the door to go outside. She fits right in with ease and thrives with all daily routines. She loves Nyla bones and toys and has hardly needed any redirection. Vicky is very content and easy to please. She does well with basic leash training, walking, and has enjoyed a few runs in the tennis court.

Vicky was given the nickname “Roo Roo” because she stood up like a 🦘. She has met a few other people and may still be timid, but once she knows you’re safe she’s fine. Vicky had a play date with another coconut retriever and even shared her foster home with him for 5 days. She opened up and they became best friends! Vicky is so sweet and will make a great friend to anyone lucky enough to receive her love. She sure loves her foster home better than the shelter life. It’s a rough transition for these babies but to watch them transfer their fears into comfort is the best part of the process. She is one, happy, kind soul!
