My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paso's journey hasn't been easy, but he's a survivor with a heart full of untapped potential. Originally discovered as a stray, he found himself in a shelter where life threw him some curveballs. While at the shelter, Paso experienced several seizures, and he was reactive towards shelter staff.

The shelter recognized Paso's need for specialized care, so they reached out to us for help. With open hearts and open arms, we welcomed Paso into our rescue. Since joining us, Paso has not experienced any seizures, thanks to the medication that is managing his condition. However, Paso will require continued medical management for his seizures for his whole life.

Paso's journey has left him with some emotional scars, and he's shown signs of aggression towards our staff. He has a bite history, but he's a dog who's been through a lot, and it's going to take a very special person to help him heal and build trust. Paso is yearning for someone who can show him the love he's been missing in his life.

Paso needs someone with lots of patience and understanding. He has been through a lot, and he will need time to adjust to a new home and a new life. He needs to go to a home with no Children. Due to his history of reactivity and unpredictable behavior, Paso cannot be placed in a home with children. He would thrive best as the only dog in his future home.

While Paso's journey has been difficult, he is worth every ounce of effort. He's waiting for the right person to come along, someone who understands that trust takes time to build. With your love, patience, and dedication, Paso can bloom into the loving, faithful companion he's meant to be.

If you are that special person willing to give Paso the second chance he deserves, please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
