My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Onyx!

Quick Facts
Breed: Shepherd mix
Age: 4-5 months (as of 9/30/23)
Size: 30 lbs currently, but it is estimated that he will be 60-80 lbs full grown
House-trained: working hard on it!

Onyx came to the rescue as an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. This boy is absolute perfection: he is friendly with dogs of all sizes, and thrives on attention from people. This affectionate boy comes with unlimited kisses and the happiest tail wags you ever did see. He loves neighborhood walks & hikes on trails, but like a true working dog, he prefers to check out all the sniff-spots & bushes along the way.

Onyx would make a perfect companion for a brewery outing, patiently watching the world go by as you enjoy your favorite beverage. Aside from joining in the Amazon delivery alerts with his foster siblings, Onyx is a fairly quiet boy. He is crate trained: sleeping in it throughout the night and during the days his foster parents are at work, though he still has occasional accidents in the crate. He is mostly house broken & is working super hard to master this skill.

He is a typical puppy: he loves his chew toys, and the assortment of pine cones and twigs he discovers in the backyard. He romps around with his housemates and absolutely loves to snuggle up on the couch at your side when it's time to wind down at the end of the day.

Onyx is very food motivated and will wear on the hardest of hearts with his puppy-dog eyes. He would benefit greatly from training so his Shepherd mind is as big as his heart.

Puppies require training, so Onyx is no different. He does know some basic commands, but expect to work to potty train your newest addition as well as work with them on their basic obedience, like jumping and chewing. We highly encourage enrolling your new addition in training courses to teach obedience and socialization skills. Please remember puppies are A LOT of work and are a commitment for life.
