Hi future family. My name is Maggie. I am a 2 year old rat terrier/ dachshund mix. I am the perfect size weighing in around 17 pounds. I must say I have the prettiest eyes and some of the most fabulous ears you will ever see. I am nervous when I first meet people and will need time to know you are safe. But once I am comfortable you will find I am a curious and sweet little girl who very much wants to be by your side. I adore running around in the backyard, so I will need a home with a fence. I also love going for walks and foster mom feels most secure when I’m wearing my harness as I do want to chase squirrels and birds. Also there are just some things I am not sure of yet that are kind of scary and concerning, such as gnome statues and mailbox flags. So I say safety first and let me wear my harness. I have done ok with the other dogs in my foster home, but have been known to not always want to share with them. I would do best in a home with adults and/ or dog savvy older kids. I am not completely perfect with the potty thing, but am getting there and feel confident that I will master this. Maggie is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative, microchipped, de-wormed and is spayed. Maggie’s adoption fee is $325.00. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. If you are interested in having Maggie be part of your family, please fill out an application on AAP’s website.
