My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please for a moment, peel your gaze away from those spectacular jowls to read these unworthy words. If Drago's not the most regal and stately gentleman you've seen this week, I'll have to assume that you've recently visited Buckingham Palace. This enormous boy is technically more than his face flaps alone, but we have to admit that they steal the show.

Despite his size, he's a bit of a dainty shy boy who prefers to stick with his foster mom over running off with his friends. While he seems to enjoy the vibe of playtime with other dogs, he's really more of a spectator than a contributor. He'd rather bring orange slices to the game and cheer from the sidelines than dive into the fray. Or better yet, he'll stay home and nap on the couch babysit the houseplants.

If you've got room in your home for an XXL marshmallow, Drago would like to bashfully proffer his paw!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Angel City Pit Bulls has dogs who demonstrate stable, fun, people-oriented, outgoing personalities- making them fantastic family dogs. We have a wide range of energy levels, so whether you are looking for a running partner, potential “therapy dog”, or a couch potato, we will typically have a dog that will fit the bill.

Our goal is to provide you with a thoughtful and personalized adoption experience. We will work with you to find a dog that is right for your situation. Many of the ACPB dogs live in multi-dog foster homes, and enjoy the company of other well-matched dogs and some even with well-matched cats. We are happy to assist with family pet introductions.

Our adoption center is open by appointment only. To get started, we ask that you fill out a brief application (link is above). Following that, you will receive an email with a link to set up a call with our team to begin the match-making and adoption process. We'll set up a meet and greet for the dog(s) you are interested in, including introductions to your family pets if needed. When you are ready to move forward with the adoption, we will arrange a home delivery to help you get settled in with the newest member of your family.

Resources, support, and education are always available, and you can expect an extensive level of knowledge and support from ACPB for the lifetime of your dog.

We ask for an adoption donation of $250 for dogs over 6 months old, and $350 for a puppy under 6 months old. This non-taxdeductible contribution assists us in continuing our mission to help more dogs in need.

More about this rescue

Mission: Angel City Pit Bulls is creating a better future for pit bulls by promoting their positive image as loving family companions through education, public advocacy, adoptions and owner support.

Goal: To reduce the number of pit bull terrier type dogs in animal shelters by increasing adoptions, providing community education to increase owner retention, and participating in targeted spay/neuter programs. As a member of the NKLA Coalition, it is our goal to be an integral part of making Los Angeles no-kill.

History: Angel City Pit Bulls is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2010 to address the problem of overpopulation and high euthanasia rate of pit bull terrier type dogs in Los Angeles area shelters. ACPB continues to evolve through the efforts of dedicated pit bull owners, educators, rescuers, and supporters working together to respond to the challenges facing pit bulls in our community.
