My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nina was a severely underfed girl who we got from animal control. She was helped out by the NSU Vet Tech school who nursed her back to health! She is making huge strides daily and has a joy for life and loves to be around people. She has had a rough go at life, had basically all types of worms and is done with her heartworm treatment. Despite all this being caused by the neglect of humans, she is resilient and just wants to be cuddled. She gets along with male dogs, and helped to coax one of her buddies out from under the house belonging to his new adopter! Nina loves all people, big and small, though might prefer men slightly, and loves to play fetch and is working on not jumping up so much! She is in a play group with other dogs and has a lot of fun. She is super smart and picks up very quickly the little training we've been able to give her!

More about this rescue

FAUNA is the newly combined animal rescue organization serving Natchitoches Parish. Members of Natchitoches Humane Society and Natchitoches Hope for Paws have voted to join efforts and work together alongside parish and city officials to help Natchitoches become a low/no-kill community.

Our mission is to provide and promote humane treatment for homeless and neglected animals in need, working together with the community to find them caring homes. Striving to be a low-kill community, we will provide programs and services to create a society of responsible pet owners. As animal advocates we will be a voice for those creatures who cannot speak for themselves.
