My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sherman was rescued off the streets by his current foster mom. He had a big wound on his stomach, and likely would not have survived if he hadn't been taken in! He is now healthy, heartworm-free, and thriving. He loves to play with his foster dog siblings and enjoys walks. Sherman is a friend to all who meet him, with his playful and loving personality. He will make a great pet for someone who enjoys staying active and has a soft spot for this sweet boy's tough past. If you are interested in giving Sherman a forever home, please contact npfauna@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

FAUNA is the newly combined animal rescue organization serving Natchitoches Parish. Members of Natchitoches Humane Society and Natchitoches Hope for Paws have voted to join efforts and work together alongside parish and city officials to help Natchitoches become a low/no-kill community.

Our mission is to provide and promote humane treatment for homeless and neglected animals in need, working together with the community to find them caring homes. Striving to be a low-kill community, we will provide programs and services to create a society of responsible pet owners. As animal advocates we will be a voice for those creatures who cannot speak for themselves.
