Lunar, or Lu for short, came to TCR when her previous family was moving and couldn't bring her, and one of our fosters took her in. She can be shy and nervous with changes, but with some patience and treats she warms up into a loving, playful companion.
Lu is not much of a lap cat, but she loves human company and attention on her terms. She likes to be in the same room as you and will even snuggle up next to you on occasion. She loves to be pet by people she knows and will give you loud rumbly purrs to show her appreciation. She can be vocal at times and will let you know if she is not getting the attention she wants! She is two years old and still very curious and energetic - she loves to play with all sorts of toys! Her favorite is chasing after balls and jumping after wand toys. She also enjoys hanging out in her cat tunnel and watching out windows. She could be a perfect fit for someone looking for a playful cat with a bit less energy than a kitten.
Lu lived as an only cat for her first two years, but she has surprised us by warming up to her foster's resident cat, who she now tolerates and even plays with. We think she could do well as either a solo cat or paired with another cat. She would require very slow, proper introductions to another cat as she can be a bit of a bully when she doesn't feel secure and confident in her space. We suspect she would not do well with dogs, but she would be well suited to a family with older, cat-savvy children. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Apply today to be this gentle cutie's forever home!

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
