My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet with a touch of Spice....Some cats sit on laps. Many give their people head bumps. Some prefer to sit next to their favorite people, while others like to vocalize and solicit petting or brushing. Some might flop onto their backs and allow a belly rub, but look for clues that your cat is uncomfortable. It may take time to understand their cues, but when we do, we should respect them. Petunia is a 3-year-old white and black, short-hair. She is friendly but gets a touch spicy when she has enough attention. No young children. Petunia would be great as indoor/outdoor cat with safe access....after she learns her new home territory. She must acclimate to her new home and property BEFORE being allowed out by herself...Fully vetted and ready to go! Estimated DOB: 9-5-20. Since Petunia is in a foster home right now, please call to schedule a "meet and greet. $25 adoption fee for this spectacular girl. 423-442-1015 or email animal.shelter@monroetn.com

More about this shelter

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
