**COVERED VETERINARY CARE FOR LIFE***
Papillon is a sweet girl who loves to hang out with her humans when she is not napping or munching on hay. She has splay leg, a congenital condition that causes limited function in her legs, so they stick out to the sides. Because of her condition, she can't hop like a normal rabbit, but she has adapted quite well and still manages to move around a bit on her own. She requires only a small enclosure with special bedding and needs some help keeping herself clean and groomed. She also can't use a litterbox like a fully healthy rabbit, so daily cleanup is required. She won't take up much space and has all the love in the world to give.
She is very comfortable with being handled and will give you some kisses in return. Apart from her congenital leg condition, she is otherwise quite healthy. She does take one medication orally every day for splay leg-related arthritis. With proper care and attention, we anticipate Papillon will live a long and happy life. Will you give her the care she so greatly deserves?
Papillon is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated against RHDV2.
Napa Bunnies will fully cover any of her medical expenses for life through our Special Needs Bunnies Program.
If you would like to meet Papillon, please email napabunnies@gmail.com or complete our adoption application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BUN/Rabbit

More about this rescue
Napa Bunnies was founded in November 2019 when several individuals came together to clear a rabbit dump site in the city of Napa and get the rescued rabbits spayed/neutered and adopted into safe indoor homes.
Towards the end of our mission, it became clear that there was a need to continue to help rabbits in the Napa area and beyond through education and advocacy. Napa Bunnies continues to rescue and rehome rabbits, but instead of being just another brick-and-mortar rescue, the focus is on health and the education on the proper and responsible care of rabbit companions.
The organization has partnered with a veterinarian to offer wellness and vaccination clinics. A thorough annual exam can identify health issues early on, which can then be addressed. The idea is that a healthy rabbit is less likely to be abandoned by their guardian; and that accessibility to a rabbit savvy veterinarian or cost should never be an impediment.
