My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Minerva, aka Minnie!

Minnie’s life took a turn when her elderly guardian moved and she lost her lifelong home. This shy tortie has been through a lot, but with patience, love, and maybe a little bribery in the form of treats, she’s finally starting to show her true personality. She’s not the type to rush into your arms—she likes to inspect, approve, and then maybe settle in—but once she decides you’re cool, she’s basically a velvety little lap heater with built-in purr engine.

Minnie is classy, well-mannered, and quietly hilarious if you pay attention. She has impeccable litter box habits, keeps herself groomed like a tiny tortie fashionista, and loves her hideaway spots like a queen’s throne. A sunny window, a cozy cat tree, or a secret box? She approves. Need a companion who can silently judge your life choices but still cuddle you later? Minnie is your girl.

Her perfect home is calm, indoor-only, without kids, and ideally as the one-and-only pet… though a gentle cat or dog who respects her space might get lucky. Vet visits? Not her fave—some mild sedation may be required—but the payoff is worth it: a cat who will gift you a lifetime of trust, soft purrs, and subtle sass.

Minnie is currently in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.

All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
