My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apollo and his brother were born outside in someone's backyard that gave no more than food and water. By the time we received the cats, they were months old with no socialization. Russian Blue cats are very special because they are hypoallergenic, so I am willing to work at socializing them. His brother Zeus warmed up enough that he was adopted in March.
Apollo loves all other cats, and has seen a lot of cats' cycle through my foster room. I believe he would do just fine as an only cat as well. When he is in his elevated large crate I reach in and start slowly reassuring pets and face scratches. When he is really enjoying that, I scruff him and bring him to my lap. I scruff because he is tense and unsure. He quickly relaxes and I loosen my grip. Apollo gets totally immersed in my attention, rubbing and brushing his head and ears on my hands, rolling over for a belly rub, and even slapping my hand when I start to quit. Then I let him down to run around and play with all the toys. He loves interactive toys and will rough and tumble by himself or with another cat. I have videos of his play time. Then he lays around and looks out the window. If he is laying around relaxed, he sometimes allows me to approach and pet and scratch. Outside the crate, it is up to him and he isn't always ready. Not to worry, he happily goes into his crate as this is his safe place. I put his food, water, and litterbox in the crate so he is happy. At this time Apollo will not approach a person, instigate the loving session, or jump in a lap on his own.
Apollo is a gorgeous specimen of a Russian Blue Cat and since he is so easy going and gets along with other foster cats, I will continue to work with him.
Apollo is neutered, combo tested triple negative, FelV vaccinated and microchipped. He is ready to move to a quiet home with a caregiver that will continue to reassure him with petting and build his trust.
