My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola needs our help friends. She is very much at peace in this photo and we want to help her continue to feel safe, loved and happy. We can't share the details of her history here but suffice to say she had a pretty rough life before we were able to get her to safety. And she is safe now, but in a very temporary home. She needs to find her forever person and start building new and happy memories.
Lola is about 2 yrs old and in good health. She is silly and playful but also craves attention and affection and will happily curl up next to you for some TV time or keep your lap warm while you read. She never lived in a home before so it's taking her a minute to get her potty routine down but she is super smart and picking it up fast. She walks nicely on the leash after a few minutes of getting her initial excitement out and will match your pace. She really likes treats, good food and to sleep in the bed with her person. She needs to be an only dog (for now) but is not reactive on leash when walking. She is more comfortable with women than men, but a patient man with soft energy and the ability to just give her the time and space to come to him will win her over in no time. She has some low grade separation anxiety so someone who is home most of the time is the best fit for her.
Lola is one of the lucky ones to have left her former life behind but she can't live in limbo. Without a home, her good luck was for naught. I know it's the holidays and everyone has other things on their mind and other plans. But what greater gift is there than saving a life?
We are looking for a forever home for Lola, not a rescue, shelter or foster. She needs stability and to not bounce around or live in a kennel. If you think you and Lola could be a good fit for each other please reach out, and if not please share this widely. We need her perfect person to see her (soon). Thank you!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We strive to place all of our rescued dogs in forever homes.

Our adoption process includes an questionnaire to learn more about what you are looking for, a meet and greet with the dog and your pets, a home visit, and an adoption contract.

Our adoption fee is $250 for adults and $350 for puppies. To encourage families to consider bringing in senior dogs to their home, we usually waive or greatly reduce the adoption fee.

More about this rescue

Shadow's Fund was created to provide rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing for seniors and other special needs dogs that often get passed over by the public in shelters. Our goal is to provide those without hope the chance to experience love and joy again.
