Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Monty, a gentle soul who has formed a strong bond with his companion, Marie. Monty is a shy cat who takes time to warm
up to new people, and he thrives best in a quiet and calm environment. Due to his sensitive nature, he would prefer a home without young children, where he can feel safe and secure. He arrived at the shelter in July of 2023, with many other cats he was acclimated with. Those other cats had been adopted leaving Monty unsure of new cats coming into the community room. He did make a bond with Marie.
They’ve been together for a good long time, enjoying the accommodations of their own room at the SPOT Clinic.
Key Characteristics:
• Bonding: Monty is strongly bonded with Marie and would prefer to stay together.
• Personality: Shy and reserved, Monty needs time to build trust with new people.
• Home Requirements: A quiet home without young children is essential for Monty's well-being.
• Health: Monty is FIV+, and his new owners should be aware of his status and provide proper care. FIV+ cats can live a long healthy life.
Adoption Considerations:
• Monty would benefit from a patient and understanding owner who can give him time to adjust to new surroundings.
• Providing a calm and peaceful environment will help Monty feel secure and build trust.
• Regular veterinary check-ups and proper care will help Monty live a happy and healthy life despite his FIV+ status. It can only be transferred by very deep bite wounds, where there is blood transfer. So would need a calm and peaceful home environment along with other resident cats.
Ideal Owner:
• Someone who understands and respects Monty's shy nature and can provide a gentle approach.
• An owner who can provide a quiet and calm environment, free from stress and loud noises.
• A household without young children, ensuring Monty feels safe and secure.
By understanding Monty's and Marie’s needs and providing a suitable environment, you can help them feel comfortable and loved, and they will reward you with their loyalty and affection.
