My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To know Chuck is to love him. All you need to do is take that first step. Why is he worth it? Well, after almost 3 years in the shelter system, Chuck has not given up on people. He loves his friends, and will greet them with a bouncy joy and a face full of kisses. He’s a loyal companion who’s happy to hang with you, entertain himself with a long-lasting chew, or go on walks to investigate every possible scent.

Need more enticement? Imagine this. Chuck is basically if Einstein and Sherlock Holmes had a baby... but brindle and houndlike. So, even better! He is incredibly smart, curious, an avid puzzler, likes earning an agility course or lying at your feet while you work. He loves to learn, and, as a Top Dog trainee, he’s mastered sit, down, stay/wait, place, is polishing up his leash walking skills, and is totally crate trained. Being eager to please and loving to work for treats makes training easy to maintain. But Chuck doesn’t spend his whole day Einsteining, Sherlock Holmsing, and playing fetch. He also enjoys some leisurely down time lying in the sun or curled up with a favorite toy. (Yes, Chuck would do best in a house with a yard.) The best part? When you’re ready to wind down, he’d love nothing more than a nap next to you while you finish your latest Netflix series. He's a pretty solid cuddler too!

Is Chuck willing to share your attention with children or another dog? He has no experience with little kids but could possibly live with older teens. He is a bit more selective with dogs and tends to prefer one-on-one playdates with the ladies, so a stable female friend might work. The best way to know if your dog and Chuck will be a good match is to reach out to us to schedule a dog dog meet and greet.

Are you ready to join the Chuck Fan Club? He's waiting for you.
