Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sitter needed: 2/13-2/19
After almost three years in the shelter, could 2026 be the Year for Chuck? It got off to a great start with a New Year’s sleepover host saying, “He slept in my arms the last 3 nights. I honestly fell completely in love with him, and, if I could adopt him with my work schedule, I absolutely would.” And Chuck was only there 4 nights! He followed that by making a huge impression on his next sleepover, and they converted to foster. As they said, “We love Chuck! We need to help him find his forever home!”
If you haven’t noticed, Chuck can quickly work his way into your heart. Besides being a pretty solid cuddler who will curl up with you on the couch, he’ll also entertain himself quietly while you work. Just give him one of his favorite long-lasting chews or a cozy place nearby to nap. As a Top Dog Trainee, Chuck is also happy to show off the skills he’s been working on in preparation for his big chance. He is house and crate trained and can be left for several hours without barking. He knows sit, down, stay/wait, place, and engages well with his handler on walks. His foster said, “He’s food motivated but doesn’t beg,” which makes it easy to maintain and reinforce training.
Would you like to help Chuck keep the momentum going this year? Ideally, he would do best in a house with a yard where he can sniff, fetch, or just lounge in a sunny spot. He does not have experience with young children but could possibly live with older teens. When it comes to dogs, he’s a bit selective and tends to prefer one-on-one playdates with the ladies, so a stable female friend might work. The best way to know if your dog and Chuck will be a good match is to reach out to us to schedule a dog dog meet and greet.
If you’re willing to give him a chance, Chuck will not disappoint. Come meet this lovable boy and discover for yourself why 2026 should be the Year for Chuck!
